Our Vibrant & Passionate Team:

Flora Petri

Yoga Instructor

Flora guides you to float with the waves of your breath, leading to stability in postures to strengthen body and spirit. The Yoga she is sharing ranges from powerful to gentle, finding connection with Mother Earth, journeying around an intention. Besides Vinyasa and Gentle Flow, she loves sharing deep, restful, nourishing Yin and Hatha classes. All bodies and levels of experience are welcome.

The practice of Yoga came to her in challenging times of grief and change. Feeling so much support over the years, the spark was kindled and she was hungry for more. India was calling her to attend her first 200 hour YTTC in Mysore, Karnataka, a very profound experience. Following the voice of her heart, she found herself in Cape Town, South Africa, to deepen her experiences and share more Yoga, attending a second 200 hour course. Learning is endless.

Taking care of people, creating a nourishing environment where they feel safe and held, is deeply fulfilling to her. The well-being of each individual ripples out like waves, softly washing over humanity, profoundly inspiring us to live in union and peace. Until recently, Flora taught at Maa Yoga and the North Shore Women’s Center in North Vancouver. Before that she ran and taught at a Yoga project in Ivory Coast. Sharing Yoga with children in challenging environments made her step into her power and expand on her knowledge of movement practice, both physical and mental. Flora is deeply passionate about Yoga, nature and vegan food and she looks forward to sharing her classes with you.

Hailing from the sunny Arizona desert, Lauren was fortunate to experience her first yoga class at the age of 15 and has been a dedicated yogi ever since. What began as purely a love for the physical practice evolved over the years to encompass a deep admiration for yoga as a way of life - both on and off the mat. In 2015, Lauren completed her Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, Indonesia and shortly after became certified as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She thrives on combining her passion for yoga, mindfulness and intuitive eating to serve her students and empower them throughout their journey.

Lauren draws from her experience in several styles of yoga to create well rounded, playful and intelligently sequenced classes. She offers space to explore the body-breath connection with mindful instruction and focused alignment cues. Lauren continues to inspire her teaching through attending workshops with master teachers and spending time exploring the natural playground of beautiful British Columbia.

Kelsey Stefanyk

Yoga Instructor

A lover of the outdoors, traveling, and learning, Kelsey found yoga complimented her active lifestyle. 10 years after attending her first yoga class, she completed her teacher training in 2013 with Meghan Currie in Nicaragua. After years of guiding people in the mountains by day and on the mat in the evenings, she decided it was time to change paths. She went back to school to get her BSc and is currently pursuing further educational goals, but she is excited to be back leading classes at the Alchemy!

Classes can range from curious and playful, to grounded and mindful. Either way, you can expect a balance of effort and ease with slow, fluid movements, attention to alignment and deliberate breath.

Ellissa Gilbert

Yoga Instructor

Now retired from her treeplanting career (after planting a couple million trees all over BC!) Ellissa is now a carpenter by trade, and a Yogi by choice. She loves to be upside down on her mat, but also loves to just lay down... it’s all about balance! She completed her 200 hr YTT in 2016, in Nelson with Mama Joy, and started to teach shortly thereafter. She still mixes up her right from her left, and occasionally stumbles on words in the English language, but she is always curious about new ways to stretch the body and ready to venture into new poses. Yoga is where she found the beautiful combination of feeling light as a feather and strong as a rock! And this is exactly the feeling she has committed herself to sharing with you!

Sheri Zebroff

RMT & Yoga Instructor

As a massage therapist and yoga instructor for 18yrs, Sheri’s ongoing curiosity of ‘How?” and ‘Why?’ the body moves as it does is her passion. She is also fascinated with the anatomy of the spirit and how Yoga, the union of the body and mind, can create a sense of peace within.

A Yoga practice is truly a magical experience as you may enter a class tangled up emotionally, mentally and/or physically and leave feeling so much more spiritually connected to everything around you. She has come to understand Yoga as her medicine and how it enlivens the invisible energetic thread that connects us to one another.

Her classes provide an opportunity for self reflection as Sheri will often invoke a thought process which uncovers and deepens your self understanding. Her teaching style reflects her curiosity for the fascial system and how the fascia responds to alignment within a yoga pose. Through mindful breathing and thoughtful cueing she leads you to the place where you are holding tension enabling you to let it go.

Inspired and excited, Sheri is working towards completing her 500hr YYT with Blissology founded by Eoin Finn. This style of yoga is grounded in reverence for nature, in the energy that connects us all together and that, “ LOVE is the ultimate renewable resource!”

Kät Taniberg

Yoga Instructor

Kat is originally from Estonia, but her gypsy soul has brought her to travel the world. She’s been chasing the small mountain town life and has lived and worked in 5 different countries on 3 different continents. After 6 years of travel, she arrived in Revelstoke in March 2017 and quickly realised that this is the place she wants to call home for the rest of her life.

Kat was first introduced to yoga in 2015 when she joined a local teacher in Austria for her Ashtanga classes. Having always been an active person she was instantly hooked. But it wasn’t until she joined a local yoga studio in Mt Maunganui, New Zealand in February 2016, that she realised that yoga will play a great role in her life. Yoga helped her overcome depression and that was the turning point for her to decide that she needed to share this gift with the rest of the world.

In January 2017 she completed her 200hr teacher training with Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India. Her training was in Ashtanga and Vinyasa, a very powerful combination. You can see these influences in her classes. Kat’s classes are strong and powerful, yet playful at the same time.

“The more you open your heart in the class, the more you will open it in real life.” Yoga has taught Kat a lot about herself and a holistic way of life and now she’s on a mission to share this with the rest of the world!

Louise Upton

Louise was first drawn to yoga purely for the physical aspect. It was to mend and strengthen her aching body from constantly physically exerting herself with high intensity sports. In June 2014, she completed her 200 YTT with Julia McCabe in Pemberton BC then a 100 HR Yoga Anatomy - Prevention & Therapy training with Julia in May 2018. She has recently completed her 300 HR Advanced Yoga training with Erin Evans & Lydia Zamorano in Canmore, AB. Kenley's classes range in energy from calm and mindful to fun and playful. She loves to connect with her students (children, teens and adults) in a genuine and honest way, offering an ear to listen and guidance if asked. For Kenley, building an understanding in the importance of community, self-love and mindfulness is a special opportunity; she works hard to ensure that her students develop the skills to bring these practices into their daily lives. She believes the more we sweat, the closer we get to our hearts and our deepest desires. By incorporating a strong practice with moments of silence and stillness she hopes to create a space where students feel safe and comfortable to truly be in the present.

Jamie Kidd

RMT, Pilates & Yoga Instructor

Jamie’s journey to becoming an RMT began with yoga and using movement to heal herself. Deeply intrigued by the human anatomy, she pursued multiple yoga teacher training’s and is also a trained pilates instructor. Jamie believes so deeply in guiding others to health through movement that she now facilitates 200hr YTT’s with Yoga Science and is very excited to offer Exercise Therapy in addition to Massage at Alchemy.

In Jamie’s treatments it is her goal to approach the condition holistically, assessing the body as a whole to provide individuals with intentional and accurate treatment. She believes in beginning with the chain of imbalance that contributed to the injury and retraining muscular patterns to heal and increase performance. Jamie employs therapeutic assessment of motion looking for dysfunction and imbalance, then releases restricted muscles and reawakens opposing and weakened ones to create balanced movement patterns. During this process Jamie gives cues and tools to keep things on track in home life, ensuring a lasting result.

Health and wellness is the axis around which Jamie chooses to revolve her life. She believes there to be no better gift than to support someone through their own personal journey and experience of it.
