Oct 24/25th from 12-4pm with Cathy Keenan
We will focus on Yin and Yang philosophy and the Five Elements from Chinese medicine, not as theory to memorize, but as something you can actually feel in your own body and bring into how you cue and sequence your own yin yoga practice or teach your classes.
We'll explore:
How Yin and Yang show up as felt qualities, not just concepts, but sensations you can recognize in a pose.
The channels/meridians as lines of movement and function in the body, discovered through long holds rather than a chart.
Each of the Five Elements (phases of transformation):
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and its own quality of movement, emotion, directionality, and attention, explored through specific yin poses matched to each element.
The goal is for you to leave with a felt, embodied understanding you can translate directly into your own teaching, richer cueing, more intentional sequencing, and language that comes from real experience rather than a textbook.
